Adrian Oloff Bergh, born on 18 September 1923 in Belfast, Mpumalanga, made a substantial impact on the South African road industry until his passing in May 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n Adriaan\u2019s remarkable career included serving as President of the South African Institution of Civil Engineering (SAICE) in 1972, where he received the SAICE Outstanding Achievement award in 1984 and the SAICE President\u2019s award for Meritorious Service in 1997.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Upon his retirement from Mackintosh Bergh and Sturgess (MBS) Consulting Engineers, Adrian continued to contribute significantly to the CSIR.
