Time to celebrate and reflect

Empowerment, for Rinae Tshivhidzo, is about recognising progress while continuing the work of those who came before. She honours the stories and sacrifices that opened doors for women everywhere. “It’s about celebrating our stories and continuing the work of those who came before us so that we can show up fully and confidently in every space we enter,” she said.

Alongside her professional growth, Rinae also shines in academia. She completed her Master of Science in e-science/data science at the University of Witwatersrand on 15 December 2022. Her research, “A Comparative Study of Machine Learning Models for Loan Fraud Prediction,” explored innovative approaches to tackling financial fraud as a problem with growing relevance in today’s digital economy.

Her academic work reflects the same curiosity and commitment to excellence that she brings into her professional life, blending technical skill with real-world application.

Rinae’s journey is a reminder that strength comes in many forms, sometimes in the bold voice that leads from the front, and other times in the quiet determination that makes an impact from behind the scenes. She reflects what it means to thrive as a woman in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, guided by mentorship, rooted in values and powered by authenticity.
